The default configuration in the Red Hat openstack-neutron package before 2013.2.3-7 does not properly set a configuration file for rootwrap, which allows remote attackers to gain privileges via a crafted configuration file.

The weakness was shared 06/02/2014 as Bug 1039812 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). It is possible to read the advisory at bugzilla.redhat.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2013-6433 since 11/04/2013. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
