The graph settings script (graph_settings.php) in Cacti 0.8.8b and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via shell metacharacters in a font size, related to the rrdtool commandline in lib/rrd.php.
The weakness was presented 08/22/2014 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at svn.cacti.net. This vulnerability was named CVE-2014-5261 since 08/15/2014. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
