lib/execute/execSetResults.php in TestLink before 1.9.13 allows remote attackers to conduct PHP object injection attacks and execute arbitrary PHP code via the filter_result_result parameter.
The weakness was published 10/31/2014 by Egidio Romano as not defined mailinglist post (Full-Disclosure). The advisory is shared at seclists.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2014-8081 since 10/09/2014. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059 for this issue.
By approaching the search of inurl:lib/execute/execSetResults.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 11702 (TestLink Multiple Security Vulnerabilities).
Upgrading to version 1.9.12 eliminates this vulnerability.
The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at X-Force (97727) and SecurityFocus (BID 70711†). Similar entry is available at VDB-72766. Statistical analysis made it clear that VulDB provides the best quality for vulnerability data.
