libraries/select_lang.lib.php in phpMyAdmin 4.0.x before, 4.2.x before, and 4.3.x before includes invalid language values in unknown-language error responses that contain a CSRF token and may be sent with HTTP compression, which makes it easier for remote attackers to conduct a BREACH attack and determine this token via a series of crafted requests.

The weakness was presented 03/09/2015 by Xiaofeng Zheng (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2015-2206 since 03/04/2015. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1592 according to MITRE ATT&CK.

Upgrading to version 4.3.0 eliminates this vulnerability.
