The get_user_grouplist function in the extdom plug-in in FreeIPA before 4.1.4 does not properly reallocate when processing user accounts, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a group list request for a user that belongs to a large number of groups.

The weakness was published 03/30/2015 with Red Hat (Website). The advisory is shared at fedorahosted.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2015-1827 since 02/17/2015. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
