The LDAP Server in IBM Domino 8.5.x before 8.5.3 FP6 IF6 and 9.x before 9.0.1 FP3 IF1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via unspecified vectors, aka SPR KLYH9SLRGM.
The weakness was shared 04/06/2015 with Zero Day Initiative as confirmed advisory (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at www-01.ibm.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2015-0117 since 11/18/2014. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 87 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $25k-$100k. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 74276 (IBM Domino LDAP Server Remote Execution Vulnerability (swg21700029)).
Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 19323.
