The weakness was published 04/17/2015 by Imre Rad as confirmed mailinglist post (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared at seclists.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2014-7953 since 10/07/2014. An attack has to be approached locally. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.

Upgrading to version 5.0 eliminates this vulnerability. The upgrade is hosted for download at android.com. A possible mitigation has been published even before and not after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
