A vulnerability was found in Adobe Acrobat Reader up to 10.1.13/11.0.10 (Document Reader Software). It has been classified as critical. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1068.
The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 83470 (Adobe Acrobat < 10.1.14 / 11.0.11 Multiple Vulnerabilities (APSB15-10)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Windows. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 123579 (Adobe Reader and Acrobat Multiple Vulnerabilities (APSB15-10)).
Upgrading to version 10.1.14 or 11.0.11 eliminates this vulnerability. The upgrade is hosted for download at adobe.com. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 19415.
