login/token.php in Moodle through 2.5.9, 2.6.x before 2.6.9, 2.7.x before 2.7.6, and 2.8.x before 2.8.4 allows remote authenticated users to bypass a forced-password-change requirement by creating a web-services token.

The weakness was published 06/01/2015 (Website). The advisory is available at moodle.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2015-2272 since 03/09/2015. The attack may be launched remotely. The successful exploitation needs a simple authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1068 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

Upgrading to version 2.6.7, 2.7.4 or 2.8.2 eliminates this vulnerability.
