A vulnerability was found in Easy2Map Plugin up to 1.2.4 on WordPress (WordPress Plugin). It has been rated as critical. This issue affects some unknown functionality of the file includes/Function.php. The manipulation of the argument mapName
with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in includes/Function.php in the Easy2Map plugin before 1.2.5 for WordPress allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the mapName parameter in an e2m_img_save_map_name action to wp-admin/admin-ajax.php and other unspecified vectors.
The weakness was disclosed 07/08/2015 (Website). The advisory is shared at wordpress.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2015-4614 since 06/16/2015. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1505 for this issue.
A public exploit has been developed by Larry W. Cashdollar and been published immediately after the advisory. The exploit is available at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:includes/Function.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
Upgrading to version 1.2.5 eliminates this vulnerability.
