A vulnerability was found in Microsoft Internet Explorer 7/8/9/10/11 (Web Browser). It has been declared as critical. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1592 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 85333 (MS15-079: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (3082442)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Windows : Microsoft Bulletins. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 110258 (Microsoft Office Multiple Remote Code Execution Vulnerabilities (MS15-081)).
Applying the patch MS15-079 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at technet.microsoft.com. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
