A vulnerability was found in OpenAFS up to 1.6.12 (File Transfer Software). It has been declared as problematic. The pioctl for the OSD FS command in OpenAFS before 1.6.13 uses the wrong pointer when writing the results of the RPC, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (memory corruption and kernel panic) via a crafted OSD FS command.
The weakness was published 08/12/2015 (Website). The advisory is shared at openafs.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2015-3285 since 04/10/2015. An attack has to be approached locally.
