GnuTLS before 2.9.10 does not verify the activation and expiration dates of CA certificates, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof servers via a certificate issued by a CA certificate that is (1) not yet valid or (2) no longer valid.
The weakness was presented 08/14/2015 with Red Hat (Website). The advisory is shared for download at gitlab.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2014-8155 since 10/10/2014. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
