The weakness was disclosed 10/13/2015 as MS15-106 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is available at technet.microsoft.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-6050 since 08/14/2015. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $5k-$25k at the moment (estimation calculated on 06/21/2022). It is expected to see the exploit prices for this product decreasing in the near future.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 86367 (MS15-106: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (3096441)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
