CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

As an impact it is known to affect availability. CVE summarizes:

The xsltStylePreCompute function in preproc.c in libxslt 1.1.28 does not check if the parent node is an element, which allows attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted XML file, related to a "type confusion" issue.

The weakness was shared 11/17/2015 as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). The advisory is available at git.gnome.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-7995 since 10/28/2015. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 87001 (FreeBSD : libxslt -- DoS vulnerability due to type confusing error (ecc268f2-8fc2-11e5-918c-bcaec565249c)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family FreeBSD Local Security Checks and running in the context l. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 124584 (Apple Mac OS X v10.11.3 and Security Update 2016-001 Not Installed (APPLE-SA-2016-01-19-2)).

Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at git.gnome.org. A possible mitigation has been published 3 days after the disclosure of the vulnerability.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at Tenable (87001), SecurityFocus (BID 77325†) and Vulnerability Center (SBV-54754†). The entries VDB-80331, VDB-80332, VDB-80333 and VDB-80334 are related to this item. Once again VulDB remains the best source for vulnerability data.
