The weakness was released 12/15/2015 by Cajus Pollmeier (musicDespiteEverything) as MFSA2015-135 as confirmed security advisory (Website). The advisory is available at mozilla.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2015-7204 since 09/16/2015. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. The advisory points out:

Security researcher Cajus Pollmeier reported that Firefox 41 was crashing during some Javascript variable assignments. The issue was caused by an implementation error with unboxed objects and property storing in the JavaScript engine. This error could result in a potentially exploitable crash when triggered by JavaScript content as well as leading to errors on some websites.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 87385 (FreeBSD : mozilla -- multiple vulnerabilities (2c2d1c39-1396-459a-91f5-ca03ee7c64c6)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family FreeBSD Local Security Checks and running in the context l. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 168484 (OpenSuSE Security Update for seamonkey (openSUSE-SU-2016:0307-1)).

Upgrading to version 43 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
