This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2016-1011 since 12/22/2015. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.

It is declared as proof-of-concept. The exploit is available at exploit-db.com. As 0-day the estimated underground price was around $25k-$100k. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 90426 (Adobe Flash Player for Mac <= 21.0.0.197 Multiple Vulnerabilities (APSB16-10)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family MacOS X Local Security Checks and running in the context local. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 168848 (OpenSuSE Security Update for flash-player (openSUSE-SU-2016:1306-1)).

Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published before and not just after the disclosure of the vulnerability. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 24254.
