Use-after-free vulnerability in Adobe Flash Player before 18.0.0.343 and 19.x through 21.x before 21.0.0.213 on Windows and OS X and before 11.2.202.616 on Linux allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via unspecified vectors, a different vulnerability than CVE-2016-1011, CVE-2016-1016, CVE-2016-1017, and CVE-2016-1031.

The weakness was published 04/09/2016 by Natalie Silvanovich with Qihoo 360 Vulcan Team (Website). The advisory is available at lists.opensuse.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-1013 since 12/22/2015. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.

It is possible to download the exploit at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. As 0-day the estimated underground price was around $25k-$100k. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 90426 (Adobe Flash Player for Mac <= 21.0.0.197 Multiple Vulnerabilities (APSB16-10)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family MacOS X Local Security Checks and running in the context l. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 168848 (OpenSuSE Security Update for flash-player (openSUSE-SU-2016:1306-1)).

Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published before and not just after the disclosure of the vulnerability. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 24256.
