A vulnerability was found in BandSite CMS (Content Management System) (version now known). It has been rated as critical. This issue affects some unknown processing of the file addmerchpicform.php. The manipulation of the argument root_path with an unknown input leads to a code injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-94. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

The weakness was presented 06/20/2006 by Kw3rLN (Website). The advisory is shared at sourceforge.net. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-3193. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059 for this issue.

A public exploit has been developed by Kw3[R]Ln and been published before and not just after the advisory. The exploit is available at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:addmerchpicform.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
