A vulnerability was found in SAP ERP Central Component (Enterprise Resource Planning Software) (affected version not known). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is the function CJDB_FILL_MEMORY_FROM_PPB
of the component RFC/SOAP-RFC Call Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a privilege escalation vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-94. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The weakness was published 05/07/2013 by Ertunga Arsal as ESNC-2013-005 as not defined advisory (Website). The advisory is available at esnc.de. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2013-3244 since 04/22/2013. The attack may be launched remotely. Required for exploitation is a simple authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
Applying the patch SAP Note 1776695 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at service.sap.com. A possible mitigation has been published before and not just after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
