The weakness was disclosed 05/14/2013 by Ben Hawkes and Mateusz Jurczyk with Google Security Team as APSB13-14 as not defined advisory (Website). The advisory is available at adobe.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2013-3332 since 03/28/2013. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 05/10/2021). It is expected to see the exploit prices for this product decreasing in the near future.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 66444 (Adobe AIR <= 3.7.0.1530 Multiple Vulnerabilities (APSB13-14)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Windows. The problem might be mitigated by replacing the product with Microsoft Silverlight, Java or Javascript as an alternative. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
