The Disk Images subsystem in Apple iOS before 9.3.2, OS X before 10.11.5, tvOS before 9.2.1, and watchOS before 2.2.1 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code in a privileged context or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via a crafted app.
The weakness was disclosed 05/16/2016 by Jack Tang (moony li) with Trend Micro as HT206568 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at support.apple.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-1808 since 01/13/2016. An attack has to be approached locally. A simple authentication is needed for exploitation. A memory corruption issue existed in the parsing of disk images. This issue was addressed through improved memory handling.
