The megasas_lookup_frame function in QEMU, when built with MegaRAID SAS 8708EM2 Host Bus Adapter emulation support, allows local guest OS administrators to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read and crash) via unspecified vectors.
The weakness was presented 09/02/2016 by Li Qiang with 360.cn Inc. (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at openwall.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-5107 since 05/26/2016. Attacking locally is a requirement. The successful exploitation needs a simple authentication.
