Drupal 8.x before 8.1.10 does not properly check for "Administer comments" permission, which allows remote authenticated users to set the visibility of comments for arbitrary nodes by leveraging rights to edit those nodes.
The weakness was released 10/03/2016 (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-7570 since 09/09/2016. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. A single authentication is necessary for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
