The Connect client in IBM Sametime 8.5.1, 8.5.1.1, 8.5.1.2, 8.5.2, and 8.5.2.1, as used in the Lotus Notes client and separately, might allow local users to obtain sensitive information by leveraging the persistence of cleartext password strings within process memory.

The weakness was shared 06/12/2013 as 82656 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability was named CVE-2013-0534 since 12/16/2012. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack needs to be approached locally. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but an exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1552.
