The vulnerability is due to insufficient access control for TCP traffic passed through the Cisco Expressway. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted URL through the Cisco Expressway. An exploit could allow the attacker to enumerate hosts and services of arbitrary hosts, as well as degrade performance through the Cisco Expressway.

A public exploit has been developed in URL and been published 1 weeks after the advisory. It is possible to download the exploit at seclists.org. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 41 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $5k-$25k. The code used by the exploit is:
