This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2016-7282 since 09/09/2016. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 95764 (MS16-144: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (3204059)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 91316 (Microsoft Edge Cumulative Security Update (MS16-145)).
