A vulnerability has been found in Symphony CMS up to 2.6.9 (Content Management System) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown function of the file template/usererror.missing_extension.php. The manipulation of the argument existing-folder/new-folder
with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. Directory traversal vulnerability in template/usererror.missing_extension.php in Symphony CMS before 2.6.10 allows remote attackers to rename arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the existing-folder and new-folder parameters.
The bug was discovered 01/20/2017. The weakness was released 01/20/2017 (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-5541 since 01/19/2017.
