phpMyAdmin 3.5.x before 3.5.8.2 and 4.0.x before 4.0.4.2 allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information via an invalid request, which reveals the installation path in an error message, related to pmd_common.php and other files.

The weakness was presented 07/28/2013 by Emanuel Bronshtein with BugSec as PMASA-2013-12 as confirmed advisory (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at phpmyadmin.net. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the project team. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2013-4998 since 07/29/2013. The exploitation is known to be easy.
