A spoofing and denial-of-service issue existed in the handling of HTTP authentication. This issue was addressed through making HTTP authentication sheets non-modal.

The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 370349 (Apple Safari 10.1 Not Installed (APPLE-SA-2017-03-27-2)).

Upgrading to version 10.1 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
