The bug was discovered 03/27/2017. The weakness was disclosed 03/27/2017 by Brandon Azad with Apple as HT207615 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-2388 since 12/01/2016. Local access is required to approach this attack. The requirement for exploitation is a simple authentication.
