Multiple issues existed in expat. These issues were addressed by updating expat to version 2.2.0.

The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 370347 (Apple iTunes Prior to 12.6 Multiple Vulnerabilities (APPLE-SA-2017-03-22-1) and (APPLE-SA-2017-03-22-2)).

Upgrading to version 12.6 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
