The manipulation of the argument config_option with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-79. The bug was discovered 03/17/2017. The weakness was disclosed 03/31/2017 by Venustech (oss-sec). The advisory is shared for download at openwall.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-7309 since 03/29/2017. The attack can be initiated remotely. Required for exploitation is a single authentication.
