The product allows the attacker to upload or transfer files of dangerous types that can be automatically processed within the product's environment. Unrestricted file upload vulnerability in the Settings_Vtiger_CompanyDetailsSave_Action class in modules/Settings/Vtiger/actions/CompanyDetailsSave.php in Vtiger CRM 6.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code by uploading a crafted image file with an executable extension, then accessing it via a direct request to the file in test/logo/. NOTE: this vulnerability exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2015-6000.

The bug was discovered 01/12/2016. The weakness was disclosed 04/14/2017 (oss-sec). The advisory is shared at openwall.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2016-1713 since 01/12/2016. The attack can be launched remotely. The successful exploitation needs a single authentication. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1608.002 for this issue.
