The ReadSGIImage function in sgi.c in ImageMagick 7.0.5-4 allows remote attackers to consume an amount of available memory via a crafted file.
The bug was discovered 04/14/2017. The weakness was presented 04/18/2017 by Venustech with Adlab of Venustech (GitHub Repository). It is possible to read the advisory at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2017-7941 since 04/18/2017. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
