يتم استخدام مفتاح تشفير ثابت (hard-coded cryptographic key) في FileWave قبل الإصدار 14.6.3 وقبل الإصدار 14.7.2 من سلسلة 14.7.x. قد يتيح استغلال هذه الثغرة لمُهاجم غير مُصادق عليه فك تشفير المعلومات الحساسة المحفوظة في FileWave، بل وقد يسمح له بإرسال طلبات مُصممة خصيصاً (crafted requests).
