تقوم دالة TP_fast_assign() باستدعاء udp_hdr(skb) بشكل غير مشروط قبل التحقق مما إذا كان الحزمة (packet) من نوع UDP. علاوة على ذلك، يمكن استدعاء __icmp_send() من مسارات متعددة (مثل فشل الرابط، أخطاء ARP، التوجيه، AF_PACKET) حيث لم يتم تهيئة skb->transport_header مطلقاً (~0U).
عند تفعيل CONFIG_DEBUG_NET=y، يؤدي استدعاء skb_transport_header(skb) إلى تشغيل DEBUG_NET_WARN_ON_ONCE(!skb_transport_header_was_set(skb)).
تم إصلاح هذه المشكلة عن طريق: 1. تحليل معلومات النقل فقط عندما يكون iph->protocol == IPPROTO_UDP. 2. استخدام skb_header_pointer() عند الموقع (skb_network_offset(skb) + (iph->ihl << 2)) لجلب رأس UDP بشكل آمن دون افتراض أن transport_header مُهيأ.
