Xen 4.2.x, 4.3.x और 4.4-RC श्रृंखला में libvchan के io.c में (1) do_send और (2) do_recv फ़ंक्शंस स्थानीय अतिथि (local guests) को बनाए गए xenstore रिंग इंडेक्स के माध्यम से सेवा अस्वीकृति (denial of service) का कारण बनाने या संभवतः अधिकार प्राप्त करने की अनुमति देते हैं, जिससे रिंग के अंत से आगे "पढ़ने या लिखने" (read or write past the end of the ring) की घटना होती है।
