Linux kernel 4.17.3 तक के fs/xfs/xfs_icache.c में एक समस्या का पता चला है। एक NULL pointer dereference और panic lookup_slow() में होता है जब एक NULL inode->i_ops pointer पर corrupted xfs image पर pathwalks करते हैं। यह इसलिए होता है क्योंकि cached inodes को allocation के दौरान free होने की सही validation नहीं होती है।
