GCVE

VulDB is not only a CVE Numbering Authority (CNA) for the CVE Program but also one of the first GCVE Numbering Authority (GNA) for the Global CVE Allocation System (GCVE).

Introduction

The GCVE is funded by the European Union (EU) and the Computer Incident Response Center Luxemburg (CIRCL). It provides a decentralized system to assign unique vulnerability identifiers. The system provides full compatibility to the CVE program. Every GNA has a reserved namespace which can be used independently for the assignments. VulDB provides full support of GCVE references for all vulnerability entries.

VulDB GNA Namespace

The GCVE GNA namespace of VulDB is 100 and the identifiers are derived from our VDB identifiers. For example VDB-305076 becomes GCVE-100-305076. This makes it possible to reverse-lookup our GCVE identifiers very easily without depending on other sources.
