Multiple buffer overflow nel server Melange Chat 2.02 consentono ad attaccanti remoti o locali di causare un denial of service (crash) ed eventualmente eseguire codice arbitrario tramite (1) un argomento lungo nel comando /yell, (2) linee lunghe nel file di configurazione /etc/melange.conf, (3) nomi di file lunghi, o potenzialmente altri attacchi.
