Le vulnerabilità di tipo "format string" nelle routine di logging del Key Distribution Center (KDC) di MIT Kerberos V5 precedenti alla versione 1.2.5 consentono agli attaccanti remoti di causare un denial of service (crash) ed eventualmente eseguire codice arbitrario tramite specificatori di formato nei nomi dei principal Kerberos.
