Multiple buffer overflow in Gaim 0.75 consentono ad attaccanti remoti di causare un denial of service ed eventualmente eseguire codice arbitrario tramite (1) codifica ottale in yahoo_decode che provoca la scrittura di un byte null oltre il buffer, (2) codifica ottale in yahoo_decode che fa sì che un puntatore faccia riferimento a memoria oltre il byte null terminatore, (3) una stringa quoted printable al decoder MIME gaim_quotedp_decode che provoca la scrittura di un byte null oltre il buffer, e (4) codifica quoted printable in gaim_quotedp_decode che fa sì che un puntatore faccia riferimento a memoria oltre il byte null terminatore.
