La funzionalità di sniffing degli SID SMB presente nelle versioni Ethereal da 0.9.15 a 0.10.4 consente agli attaccanti remoti di causare un denial of service (crash del processo) tramite un handle privo di nome della policy, che provoca una dereferenziazione null.
