Il dissettore HTTP in Ethereal dalle versioni 0.10.1 alla 0.10.7 consente agli attaccanti remoti di causare un denial of service (crash dell'applicazione) tramite un determinato pacchetto che induce il dissettore ad accedere a memoria precedentemente liberata.
