Il kernel Linux 2.6.17.10 e 2.6.17.11 e 2.6.18-rc5 consente agli utenti locali di causare un denial of service (crash) tramite un socket SCTP con un determinato valore SO_LINGER, probabilmente correlato alla patch per CVE-2006-3745. NOTA: anche le versioni più vecchie del kernel per specifiche distribuzioni Linux sono interessate, a causa del backporting della patch per CVE-2006-3745.
