Un buffer overflow nella funzione open_sty di mkind.c per makeindex 2.14 incluso in teTeX potrebbe consentire ad attaccanti remoti con assistenza dell'utente di sovrascrivere file ed eventualmente eseguire codice arbitrario tramite un nome di file particolarmente lungo. NOTA: esistono altri bug di tipo overflow, ma potrebbero non essere sfruttabili, come ad esempio un heap-based buffer overflow nella funzione check_idx.
