Diversi buffer overflow nel sottosistema CIFS VFS del kernel Linux 2.6.23 e versioni precedenti consentono ad attaccanti remoti di causare un denial of service (crash) ed eventualmente eseguire codice arbitrario tramite risposte SMB lunghe che innescano i buffer overflow nella funzione SendReceive.
