Un errore off-by-one nella funzione iov_iter_advance in mm/filemap.c nel kernel Linux precedente alla versione 2.6.27-rc2 consente agli utenti locali di causare un denial of service (crash del sistema) tramite una specifica sequenza di operazioni I/O su file con readv e writev, come dimostrato da testcases/kernel/fs/ftest/ftest03 del Linux Test Project.
