Cisco IOS 12.0 attraverso 12.4, quando i tunnel basati su IP e la funzione Cisco Express Forwarding sono abilitati, consente agli attaccanti remoti di causare un denial of service (riavvio del dispositivo) tramite un pacchetto non valido che non viene gestito correttamente durante il passaggio da un tunnel a un secondo tunnel, noti anche come Bug IDs CSCsh97579 e CSCsq31776.
